Expos Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0
The Montreal Expos moved to within one game of the World Series today, downing the Los Angeles Dodgers on the road at Dodger Stadium 1962 by a score of 7-3. Expos left-hander Frank Riccelli had a strong outing. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Expos a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 League Championship Series.

Montreal relied on the bat of Garry Templeton to get the win. The shortstop ripped a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Expos ahead, 7-3. For the game, Templeton had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.

"Every team in baseball loses," Dodgers manager Jason Gudim said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

Game 3 is set to be played Friday, October 8th, 1982 at Olympic Stadium in Montreal. Slated to start are Dave Righetti for Los Angeles and Michael Steen for Montreal.
