The Cincinnati Reds beat the New York Mets, 7-3. Cincinnati pitcher and The United States, native Gary Nolan led the way. With the win, Cincinnati upped its record to 77-43.

The Reds got a big at-bat from shortstop Ramon Borrero. For the game, Borrero was 1-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 7th double of the season gave Cincinnati a 6-3 lead.

Nolan called the triumph "a good team win."
