Loss to Twins Extends Texas Losing Streak
The Minnesota Twins defeated the Texas Rangers, 7-3, in American League action at Arlington Stadium 1979. Minnesota pitcher Marcos Ortega had a standout performance. The Rangers, at 54-85, have lost 8 straight games.

It could have been a different outcome for Minnesota, had it not been for Aurelio Rodriguez, the three-time All-Star . Rodriguez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Minnesota up, 2-0.
