New York Yankees starter Blake Green was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Milwaukee Brewers, 8-3. With the victory, the Yankees upped their record to 71-68.

Los Angeles, California-born Rod Allen came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded and the Yankees trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to left to put New York on top.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Allen told the New York Gazette. "It's as simple as that."
