The New York Mets racked up a win at Busch Stadium 1973, bumping off the St. Louis Cardinals, 2-1. Benjamin Ochoa, who started for New York, pitched effectively for his team. Matt Adams, credited with the save, is now 18 for 29 in save opportunities. New York occupies 4th place in the National League East Division at 69-73.
New York used a timely hit from John Kruk to get the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mets ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We did just enough to win," Ochoa said.
