Twins Find a Way to Win
The Minnesota Twins walked off with a big win.

The Minnesota Twins knocked off the Texas Rangers, 7-6, at Metrodome 1983. Chet Lemon was a big reason Minnesota won. The center fielder went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The win belongs to Scott Brown in relief. His record improves to 4-3. Ed Lynch took the loss for Texas.

The Twins procured the win, in large part because of pinch hitter Jerry Mumphrey. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring double.

Mumphrey described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.

The first-place Twins, at 90-55, now lead their division by 2½ games.
