Reds Win Thriller, 8-6
The home team gave their fans plenty to cheer about, with a thrilling walk-off win.

The Cincinnati Reds defeated the San Francisco Giants, 8-6, at Riverfront Stadium 1970. Cincinnati third baseman Darrell Evans had a superb performance. He was 2-5 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Cincinnati reliever Danny Boone, now 8-0. The loser was Doug Capilla.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 13th. With no one out, Evans hit a slider from Doug Capilla for a 2-run home run. The Reds, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Evans.

San Francisco now has a 5-game losing streak.
