The Cleveland Spiders topped the Boston Red Sox, 7-5, in American League action at Cleveland Stadium 1980. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cleveland shortstop Alan Trammell. Cleveland starter Rick Rhoden was credited with the win after throwing 120 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 5-7. Cleveland is now 33-34, while Boston is 47-18.
