Hammaker Crafts 2-0 Shutout
The Milwaukee Brewers did little to support starter Atlee Hammaker against the Boston Red Sox, but it turned out he didn't need the help.

The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Red Sox, striking out 8 and surrendering 3 hits. The performance from Hammaker allowed Milwaukee to escape with the 2-0 win despite an anemic offense.

"Nobody came to me and said 'Atlee, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Hammaker told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."

Hammaker has fashioned a 15-10 mark for the season, 3.30 ERA and thrown 229 innings in 31 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .236 against him.
