Steve Busby Records Win #200
Sunday, August 8th, 1982
His goal at twenty was to win twenty games one year, pitch until he was thirty, win the league pennant and to make some money. Well, Steve Busby did something even better -- the 32-year-old Seattle Mariners star has now won 200 games in his career. That put him in a very select group of pitchers.

He joined that exclusive club today at Kingdome 1977 by whipping the California Angels 11-1, holding them to 7 hits in 8 innings while chalking up 4 strikeouts and 2 walks.

In the postgame interview, the modest Busby said, "It's special to win 200 games. You don't do it by yourself. You do it with good stuff and a good bullpen. You are only as good as the guys behind you. Years from now I might look back on it and give myself a little pat on the back."

During his career Busby's won-lost record is 200 wins and 148 losses with a 3.39 ERA. He has limited other teams to a .240 average.
