Friday, October 1st, 1982
All game long, Boston's Jeff Burroughs was rattling the walls at Yankee Stadium 1976 and banging out base hits against the New York Yankees. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Red Sox had a 18-3 victory.

Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 31-year-old third baseman said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."

Jeff Burroughs hit a solo-shot off Mike Parrott in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Greg Field in the 6th, walked in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

This season Burroughs has delivered 161 hits in 542 at-bats for a .297 average with 35 home runs. He is getting on base at a .382 clip and his totals also include 95 RBIs and 93 runs scored. This year Burroughs has played in 149 games.
