Portland Comes up Empty Against Acosta

Oscar Acosta spun his magic in a 11-0 shutout victory at Ballpark at San Jose today, leading the San Jose Missions to victory, 11-0 over the Portland Beavers. The San Jose pitcher put quite a spell on Portland in a strong performance, allowing 6 hits while totaling 1 walk and 1 strikeout.

"I had a lot of good things working in this one," Acosta said. "I worked both sides of the plate. I was rarely behind in the count."

On the season Acosta has compiled a 8-6 mark with a 3.58 ERA in 5 starts. In pitching 65.1 innings he has 47 strikeouts and 27 walks while limiting the opposition to a .226 batting average.
