Thormodsgard Gets Award for Relief Work

His manager and teammates call Paul Thormodsgard a true bullpen ace.

The Pacific Coast League calls him the winner of the Reliever of the Year Award for 1982.

The Tacoma Cubs relief specialist out of San Francisco, California, won the award with 28 saves in 46 relief appearances, 78 strikeouts in 64 innings and 18 walks.

He compiled a record of 6 wins and 5 losses and had a 1.69 ERA.

He received 9 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Charles Davis of the Phoenix Giants finished second in voting, while Albert Williams of the Spokane Indians finished third.
