Browning Shuts Out Indians, 2-0
Sunday, July 18th, 1982
Tom Browning led the Jacksonville Suns to a 2-0 shutout victory over the Savannah Indians at Wolfson Park today.

"My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Browning recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location."

Browning yielded 4 hits and had 5 strikeouts and 7 walks in the standout performance.

"I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," Savannah manager said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching."

This year Browning has worked 148 innings with 104 strikeouts en route to a 9-10 record and a 3.95 ERA.
