August's #1 Starter Named in SOL Wednesday, September 1st, 1982 Over the past month Tim Crews has turned quite a few heads. He's young, talented and able to pitch with the established arms in the Southern League. He proved all that and now he's been named August's Pitcher of the Month. The rookie for the Jacksonville Suns posted 5-4 mark and a 2.27 ERA. In 9 starts he tossed 71.1 innings, permitted 60 hits and fanned 53 batters. This season Crews has fanned 151 in 231 innings and collected a 16-10 record with a 2.84 ERA. |
