SOL Reliever of the Year Award Winner Named

The Southern League calls him the winner of the Reliever of the Year Award for 1982.

The Knoxville Blue Jays relief specialist out of Vivian, Louisiana, won the award with 32 saves in 50 relief appearances, 43 strikeouts in 54.1 innings and 13 walks.

He compiled a record of 3 wins and 6 losses and had a 2.98 ERA.

He received 9 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Dave S Smith of the Mobile Bears finished second in voting, while Joel Willett of the Savannah Indians finished third.
