Treto Gets Award for Relief Work
Saturday, October 2nd, 1982
Frank Treto said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 25 years old.

But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Reading Phillies rising star has won the Eastern League Reliever of the Year Award for 1982.

He captured the award on the strength of his 3.73 ERA over 91.2 innings. He also had 17 saves in 53 relief appearances, 57 strikeouts and only 34 walks.

He received 7 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Keith Creel of the Manchester Fisher Cats finished second in voting, while Alejandro Gallardo of the Elmira Pioneers finished third.
