Bohnet Takes Home CLL Pitcher of the Year Award

John Bohnet walked away with the top pitching honors in the California League this year. The Reno Silver Sox starter was named the Pitcher of the Year Award winner for 1982 earlier today.

This outstanding 21-year-old hurler fashioned a fine 13-10 won-lost record in 26 starts. He threw 214.2 innings, giving up 169 hits and 56 walks and holding opponents to a .214 average. Bohnet struck out 154 and posted a 2.43 ERA.

He received 8 first place votes out of a possible 9. John Franco of the Lodi Crushers finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while David Cone of the Stockton Mariners finished third.
