CRL's Premier Starter is Abrego Wednesday, September 1st, 1982 Johnny Abrego hasn't been around long enough to know that youngsters shouldn't be winning Carolina League Pitcher of the Month. But when you put up numbers like his, you're going to get some notice. In August the Kinston starter earned a 4-0 mark in 5 starts. He threw 42 innings, struck out 27 and compiled a solid 1.71 ERA. Looking at his season stats, Abrego has won 8 and lost 3, collecting 80 strikeouts and 66 walks in 121.2 innings with a 2.52 ERA. |
