Monday, August 16th, 1982
Doctors in Wausau said Doug Cook might not play anymore this year. The Timbers starting pitcher suffered a torn labrum during a game against the Quad Cities Angels and will be out for at least 11 months. Club officials told BNN they do not expect him to return to the team this season.

To date this year Cook has compiled a 7-14 mark with a 3.97 ERA in 26 starts.
