Appleton's Trujillo Takes Best Pitcher Prize

Mike Trujillo of the Appleton Foxes outdid his pitching peers this year and has been honored with the 1982 Midwest League Pitcher of the Year Award.

During his remarkable year Trujillo posted a 8-4 record in 22 starts. In 142.2 innings he yielded 115 hits and 49 walks while striking out 103 and compiling a fine 2.59 ERA.

He received 5 first place votes out of a possible 11. Juan Dorville of the Danville Veterans finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Donald Johnson of the Danville Veterans finished third with 3 first place votes.
