Duluth-Superior Blanked by Beard Saturday, August 14th, 1982 Dave Beard had the Duluth-Superior Dukes dancing to his tune today with a sparkling 2-0 shutout performance for the Aberdeen Pheasants. He gave up 5 hits, issued 2 walks and had 7 strikeouts. Duluth-Superior hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery. "When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point," opposing manager said. "We just never figured him out."
