Willis Gonzalez of the Huron Cubs had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Most Valuable Player Award for 1982.

The 26-year-old left fielder put up a .326 average and a .408 on-base percentage, piling up 112 hits, 21 doubles, 2 triples, 25 home runs, 72 RBIs and 77 runs scored.

He received 6 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Mark Carreon of the Huron Cubs finished second in voting, while Mike Stellern of the Huron Cubs finished third.
