No Playoff Berth Coming for Marion Sunday, August 15th, 1982 Postseason baseball won't be coming to Marion this year. The quest for the playoffs ended for the Marion Mets today, as they were mathematically eliminated from contention. "Not the first time I've experienced this," said Mets manager , "but it never gets fun." This is the club's 2nd playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 1980. In the last 10 seasons, the Mets have missed the playoffs 9 times. In total, the Mets have missed the playoffs 11 times in their 12-year history. |
