Maciel Collects APPY Pitching Award Wednesday, September 1st, 1982 The Appalachian League announced today that Edgardo Maciel has been chosen the league's Pitcher of the Month. The Blacksburg starter had everything working for him last month as he glided to a 3-0 record. In August Maciel chalked up a 1.82 ERA in 24.2 innings with 27 strikeouts and 5 walks. Thus far in his career, Maciel has worked 90.1 innings with 76 strikeouts en route to a 8-3 record. The 20-year-old also has a 2.69 ERA. |
