Season Ends for Stephen Young of Newark
Friday, August 20th, 1982
Stephen Young of the Black Sox just might have to call it quits for the season. The 18-year-old Newark starting pitcher received a possible season-ending injury against the Niagara Falls Rapids recently at Coburn Park. Young suffered a damaged elbow ligament while throwing a pitch. The Black Sox medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 13 months.

This year Young has posted a 1-4 mark in 10 starts and has a 3.71 ERA.
