Sunday, September 5th, 1982
Playoff hopes of Voyagers player Paul Cherry have been dealt a blow today after tests revealed the starting pitcher suffered a torn rotator cuff throwing a pitch in today's game against Bozeman Pheasants. Cherry is expected to miss up to 12-13 months, effectively ruling him out of the playoffs.

Up to now Cherry has recorded a record of 7-4. In 12 starts he has fanned 50 batters in 73.1 innings with a 3.80 ERA.
