Round 1 Goes the Distance, Williston Prevails

It went the distance, but the Williston Water Wolves finally disposed of the Medicine Hat Blue Jays 4-1 in the series clincher at Williston Park.

Winning the finale gave the Water Wolves the series, 4-3. They will now advance to the Round 2.

The Most Valuable Player Award went to Williston catcher Tom Pagnozzi. He batted .345 in the series, collecting 4 RBIs and scoring 3 runs.

"Tom deserves it," said Water Wolves manager . "He was the glue that held our club together."

The Williston Water Wolves will play against the Bozeman Pheasants in the next round. Bozeman won their series against the Great Falls Voyagers 4 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
