Threshers Tom Burns Down and Out for Year
Wednesday, August 11th, 1982
Doctors in Clearwater said Tom Burns might not play anymore this year. The Threshers reliever suffered a torn labrum during a game against the Bradenton Sox and will be out for at least 7 months. Club officials told BNN they do not expect him to return to the team this season.

Burns has taken the mound for 16 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 1-1 record with a 4.19 ERA. The Clearwater reliever has limited opposing batters to a .190 batting average.
