Bailey Nabs L1 Most Valuable College Player Award

Phil Bailey of the North Carolina Tar Heels had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Most Valuable College Player Award for 1972.

The 23-year-old center fielder put up a .373 average and a .509 on-base percentage, piling up 84 hits, 7 doubles, 3 triples, 21 home runs, 55 RBIs and 70 runs scored.

Josh Grimes of the North Carolina Tar Heels finished second in voting, while Josh Nesbit of the Clemson Tigers finished third.
