Baltimore Takes League Championship Series
The Baltimore Orioles have beaten the Minnesota Twins and will advance to the World Series.

Baltimore won the final game by a 2-1 count to take the series 3-1. The Orioles triumph was no doubt in large part because of the performance of third baseman Ron Cey, who was named MVP of the series.

"The only thing that matters is that we're off to the next round and one step closer to a World Series," he said.

The Baltimore Orioles don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the New York Mets - Cincinnati Reds series. New York leads the series 2 games to 1. The World Series is scheduled to begin on October 13th, 1972.
